I've got this luvverly MySQL database on my machine, and I want to
set up a(nother) VFP (7.0 SP1) database remote-viewing it. So I open
the database (exclusively, actually), and modify it, and ask to add a
remove view, and it shows me that there are no connections so I look
at the data sources and pick the right one, and it shows the the
(correct) tables in the (correct) database, and I pick one, and it
says

Table <connection id>.<tablename> doesn't exist

!!!

If I add a connection (which verifies quite happily) I get the same
result.

The table does exist, and that user id has just about every right
available (not got "Files" I think, which is to do with bulk import).

And I've got other dbc's with working remote views to other databases
served by the same MySQL server.

In fact I can't now make any new connections at all!!! Most odd.

Anyone know what (probably very obvious) mistake I've made?

I believe you'll need to check "All user tables" in the driver options,
at least with some MyODBC versions.

Does that help?

Well b*gg*r me, it does! Isn't that a bit daft? That checkbox is on the
"pick a table" dialog, after it's already shown me all the user tables in
that database. Hmmm, bizarre! Thank you.
That's got to be right up there with the "SQL Updates" checkbox,
brilliant! 8-((
