Has anyone downloaded the latest VPF OLEDB Version 8.0.0.3117 where they
COULD NOT register the vfpoledb.dll? Is there a dependency file I to
download as well?

When I register the vfpoledb.dll it tells me it succeed, but it does not
show up in the ODBC drive list. The only FoxPro driver that shows up is
Visual FoxPro Drive (vfpodbc.dll) ver 6.00.8167.00, date 6/16/1998.

I am trying to link FoxPro tables in MS Access 95/97 but can not because the
vfpoledb.dll in not in the ODBC drive list. I am working on Windows XP Pro
if that makes a difference.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and still nothing. Even
re-downloaded the drive thinking the down got corrupted the first time, but
still the same thing.

Hi Scott,

The VPF OLEDB Version 8.0.0.3117 driver is an OLEDB driver, _NOT_ an ODBC
driver.

I think MSAccess 95/97 can handle ADO (which uses the OLEDB driver) for
retrieving the data from the VFP tables, but i'm not sure.

I have a user who needs to link VFP 8 Tables to MS Access. What driver would
I need to allow this?

In the past I just linked them using Dbase 3, 4, or 5 ODBC drivers when
useing VFP 6, but with VFP 8 it will not allow this.

Hi Scott,

This is because in VFP8 the autoinc fieldtype was added. Previous versions
of OLEDB and ODBC drivers won't work. Only the VFP8 OLEDB provider will do
the job for you.
I hope MS Access knows how to deal with ADO/OLEDB
